Historical Film Project
History is a commonly used theme in films. Some films do a good job portraying history in films and others do not. For this project, you will judge the accuracy and authenticity of historical films.

· You may choose another movie, but it must be approved by the teacher before you start the project.
All films must be chosen and approved by the teacher by ________________. You must be able to show that you have the ability to see the movie in the time allotted for this project. As you watch the film, take detailed notes on things that may be important.
Step 2: Create a movie poster for your movie. Use Gloster.com to produce a movie poster for your film. It must be different from the studio’s movie poster. Your poster needs to portray important events and themes of the film.
Step 3: Research your event. You will get 3 days to research the history of your film. Your first day will be in the library. On this day-NO COMPUTERS will be accessed for any information other than location of books to be used. The next two days, you will have access to computers for research. Remember, you are looking for ways that the film is or is not historically accurate or historically authentic.
Step 4: A paper. In a paper that is not shorter than three pages (that is 3 full pages, top to bottom with 11pt. font) explain the historical accuracy and authenticity of the film. Did the film makers get the history right? What did they miss? What did they add that was not historically accurate? Why do you think they added or omitted something? Was the film authentic? Did the director or the producer intend for the movie to be historically accurate? Your paper must be structurally and grammatically correct. You must document all of your resources. In your paper, you must use at least two sources that you found in the library on the first day of research.
